Common email delivery problems

Sometimes idribble Alerts email messages are not successfully delivered, which results in the email being returned as undeliverable. This is called an email bounce back.

If messages sent to a particular email address repeatedly bounce back, idribble automatically suspends any alerts going to that address.

Here are some common reasons why emails bounce back:

  • The address we are trying to send to is not or no longer valid.
  • The email address we are sending to has reached its storage quota. If you use a free web-based email services like Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail, make sure your inbox is not full. If it is full, we will not be able to send you email.
  • Make sure no one else has deleted the Alert prior to you reviewing your messages.
